Two years ago today, four members of theRCMP paid the ultimate sacrifice in Mayerthorpe Alberta ... yesterday Det.-Sgt. Daniel Tessier of the Laval Police force in Quebec died of gunshots received during a police raid ...Today, we remember the 731 names that will now be engraved on the memorial in Ottawa that acknowledges the sacrifice paid by the men and women in Uniform who have ended their watch, leaving behind comrades, friends, family and a legacy of service to our communities and our country.
Today, once again we pause to remember that the men and women who have reminded us through their sacrifice that they truly are "heroes in life, not death ..."
"They are our heroes,
We shall not forget them."
